Thirsk in World War 1, the town played host to two hospitals for injured soldiers from France/Belgium. Clarke the Thirsk photographer took photographs of them every month, seen here dressed in Hospital blues, how many of them were returned to the front, as was common, how many never returned home? Even the youngest in these photographs will now be long dead
